12 x 6.8″, Photo Rag Baryta Aurora Over Talkeetna

Talkeetna Mountains, Alaska, United States

Above Alaska’s rugged Talkeetna Mountains, the northern lights (aurora borealis) sweep across the sky in a curtain of shifting greens and purples. In this photograph, the landscape rests in silence beneath a spectacle that has inspired awe and stories for generations. To the Indigenous people of Alaska, the aurora carries deep spiritual meaning, believed to be dancing spirits of ancestors, animals playing in the heavens, or as guiding lights connecting the living to the spirit world. Some legends even caution against whistling beneath the lights, warning that it could call them too close.

Capturing this moment is more than photographing a natural phenomenon. It preserves a bridge between nature and myth, where light, land, and legend move together in harmony across one of Alaska’s dramatic mountain ranges.
