Grand Tetons National Park, Wyoming, United States.
Each fall, male moose in Grand Teton National Park go through the ‘rut’, an annual breeding season marked by clashes between bulls and loud bellows that echo across valleys and forests. Throughout these intense weeks, all the bulls vie for dominance and cows, but one always rises above the rest.
This bull, whom I call The King, now prepares for a long winter ahead. His scarred antlers tell a story of the season’s battles, while his calm stance against the rugged Teton foothills reflects both his strength and desire for solitude.
In this short space between autumn’s fire and winter’s stillness, The King embodies a timeless rhythm of the wild: resilience, survival, and steadfastness in the midst of nature’s ever-changing environments.
